WTF is wrong with the senate?

No shit, they're stupid.

But if you think that's bad, try Texas some time. The Texas Constitution is literally a tirade against government of all forms with a few bits of actual regulations thrown in. Our legislature meets for very short periods of time and infrequently and never gets shit done - session just ended a few days ago, in fact, so until someone calls in a special session to fix what should have been done earlier they all get to go home and jack off to the 700 club.

Our House Speaker has been trashed left and right, and is obviously on his way out, but he can't go out gracefully or resign, so what does he do? In the face of bipartisan calls to remove him from his position, he... refuses to acknowledge the existence of anyone who doesn't support him. Wouldn't be a bad thing, except that in doing so he can disregard any motion they bring forth at all, grinding things to a practical halt by any standards. On top of having dumbasses who don't know how to fund schools, overcrowded prisons, debates over whether the vaccine list should include the HPV vaccine, many officials trying to make existing - and already paid for - roads charge tolls, and loons at the top trying to get permission to take huge amounts of land to build yet another big fucking highway that doesn't need to be built, we have in charge a cocksucker who thinks that if he doesn't admit that a problem exists it must not be there.

the system worked most of the time if you study some US history. It is when you end up with retards in both parties so no matter who you elect you end up with idiots. it is like now more or less. I'm not fond of most democrats. I hate the republicans of today by default due to them being christian faggots and mindless zealots.

Through US history i favored
early period: federalists
era of good feelings & jacksonian age (age of common man): whigs on some issues, jackson on some, in conclusion they were lots of douches then
1850s up to 1877: (radical) republicans
1877-teddy roosevelt: don't really give a fuck, maybe the populists
progressive era: democrats more or less, except the racism
great depression: FDR, he imho represented both more or less and sided a little with democrats
eisenhower-70s: democrats, except JFK, i think he was a stupid in the early Vietnam war +bay of pigs (I actually loled when i read about that in the history book)
70s-neither, sided with democrats a little
92-2004: democrats
2004-present: neither. Maybe some local democrats and senators and house reps. I like Al Gore
