WTF is wrong with the senate?

Am I the only one that doesn't care? If you have a job, keep it. It doesn't apply to you. If you don't have a job and need one... then go through the process. How long would it take? a week? 2 weeks? If you need a job badly enough, you'll go through whatever steps needed.

Idea: If you don't like our laws, get the fuck out.

I did. Life is so much more awesome now.

Let's look at this logically. Put aside all your nationalistic pride and think for a second. Is the education in our country really that great? No. How's the crime rate? Pretty bad. What other cultures are you exposed to besides Mexico? Not too many. Health care? HA! Need I go on? I don't wanna be a prick, so I won't.

The fact is, our nation's leaders have made our beautiful and wonderful country a really shitty place to live, where only third-world citizens are trying to immigrate to.

You shouldn't feel bad about wanting to live in another country. It's almost like we Americans feel that you must suffer and pay your dues to be happy in the US. Why?

We buy useless shit left and right to keep us occupied from the real problem: life in the US sucks big, fat donkey dicks. Sure, the US has the biggest and best stuff, but if you judge how good your life is based on how big your tv, house, and car are, then you must ask yourself if you really know what happiness is. There's no real harmony between Americans. Everyone segregates themselves into tiny little classes, cliques, boxes, etc. until we're all just millions of little groups working alongside each other, trying not to kill each other.

I love when people use the "love it or leave it" bullshit. Life is infinitely better in other places around the world, and I love seeing the look on their faces when they realize this. I still love my family, friends, and my home back in the states...but not enough to move back there and suffer with them. The fact is, you can vote for whom you want, protest at all the rallies, and do everything in your power to change the course of the US. Nothing will change. It is no longer a government run by the people, for the people. The sooner people realize this, the better.

Did you ever notice that you never see middle to upper class people immigrating to the US? There's a reason for that.

Wasn't it our first president, George Washington, whose last words of advice were to not split the government into parties?

Look how well we listened. It looks like even then we were hard-headed.

That is the most intelligent thing I've ever heard anyone in here ever say ever. :)

To those who are worried about this, it's obviously only going to affect people that SHOULDN'T be here, or are convicted FELONS LYING ON BACKGROUND checks. Ironically to check every job, they're going to need to create jobs. hahahaha.

And james has a point as well. This is America. If you're not happy, pack your shit and start walking to a boarder.

They will NEVER change the 2 person system. That's the way our form of "democracy" was created around. You choose between a turd sandwich and a douche everytime.

So in summation, don't worry about it.

You've clearly never applied for a passport, much less US citizenship. Anything that involves dealing with the U.S. Government and establishing identity is a 6 month process, minimum.

BTW

pretty funny, i didn't like either president that much, but that thing cracked me up.

Dead Winter, that was a really intelligent post.

I think the problem with the American political system right now is that business, and capitalists in general are too interconnected with congressmen and politicians, and thus senators and house reps often enough represent the interests of big companies, not of those who elected them. People lost power, and most of them don't realize it, or care enough to realize it. They still have power. Take the streets. If one morning Congress sees 3 million people or more in front of Capitol Hill and some extra million in front of the White House, then I are gonna start giving more of than a flying fuck about the people and their wishes. People need a leader like MLK or like the leaders of the SDS in the 60s, or the anti Vietnam war movements.

Appart from that act what worries me most is the rise of evangelical and a revival of the Moral Majority and all that christian shit that try to shove their beliefs down everyone's throats.

I am seriously considering moving back to Romania next year (since there I have a much better financial situation, social situation, and all my familly is there, has nothing to do with this law and shit). I will make a separate thread about that when i get home, i'm at school now.

my goal is to move to germany, in all reality.

not necessarily because the US sucks, but because i want to experience another way to life than what is presented here.

too bad the EU makes it so hard to emigrate unless youre Turkish etc.

And it's going to chew the fuck out of our economy for obvious reasons, and thus put us, with or without jobs, in even more trouble because we will be able to produce even less. Oops.

Not everyone is miserable living here. I'm really happy in the US.
No, it's not nationalistic pride either. Everything I could ever possibly want or require is here, and in my grasp. Not just materialistic items. My career, my friends, my family, the culture (New York City is a cornucopia of culture), etc. It's not all limited to certain cliques either, considering I can associate myself with quite a few different cliques (from professional businessmen to investors, to foreigners etc)
The crime rate doesn't really affect me, and is almost exclusive to certain neighborhoods, so I don't really care so much about it.

Depending on which cities you live in (mostly the larger cities), you can get a taste of various international cultures. Not just Mexican.
I've never lived in another country (other than spending most of one year travelling back and forth between Israel), so I couldn't really speculate as to what they offer as far as international culture is concerned. But since you live in Italy, how many different cultures do you have access to, without going to a different country (I'm actually curious about that)?

You might have hated living in the US, but don't claim that it is indeed a fact that life is terrible here, since it is not for everyone.

Are you sure about those laws? Besides, even if you can't officially become a citizen for a while, it's quite easy for an American to spend many years in an EU country. Knowing the language helps considerably. I think I'm going to move to Austria next year- the German sounds better there. :)

well when i was looking at taking up residency there, the way they phrased it made it seem almost permanently stonewalled, i.e. "to apply for a work permit here, you must already have a job lined up, *BUT* by law employers have to hire EU residents first and only consider you if there are no EU citizens that meet the requirements"

and i cant really move there w/o a job right? :p

but i do have a slight advantage i suppose; i can speak "scheissedeutsch"; that is, i'm minoring in it, but having no familiar relations that i can speak it everyday with nor having any practical reason to speak it everyday anyways, it isnt very good. :p

We can't afford to get the fuck out if we're not approved for a job. Eat dick James.
Considering you're dumb enough to fuck yourself into such a corner.

Which is why I'm moving out when I graduate college. I'd like to move to Norway but I heard it's hard to find a job there.
Grow the fuck up.

Seems to me like the majority of you complaining about the country fucked yourself into a deadend and need someone to blame for your shitty life. Look in the mirror and start blaming your douchebag reflection, then maybe you'll have time to unfuck yourself.
