WTF rappers?

so almost everytime i record a rapper, they always bring me a mastered version of the beat. Even if i go out of my way and purchase a beat, half he time they come already mastered. Then when i record the vocals, theres parts where it clips like a mother fucker. what can i do?

And yeah I'm guessing most people who make "beats" are pretty stupid when it comes to recording and what's needed.

I've worked with "up and coming" rappers before and I'll tell you this: no matter how poorly you record them as long as they can hear their voice clearly they won't give a fuck and you shouldn't either, as long as you're getting paid :Smokin:

Haha true. Although I can't stand when the beat they give me isn't good quality. Like when it's YouTube quality? I literally have to downgrade the vocals to fit the beat because it would sound do stupid for that shitty beat, to have great sounding vocals

I make beats for fun sometimes; I hope I'm not stupid. Mostly so my friends can get drunk and freestyle over them, haha. Here are a few older ones I did.
