www.godinguitars.com seems to be infested

Just ignored the warning, and F-Secure didnt pop up or anything, so i think its safe.

Godin just advertises them as "Floyd Rose" bridges, neither saying if they are OFRs or licensed ones. It's kinda hard to get information because apparently, there aren't much of them out there.

I read somewhere that it's a licensed Floyd though, which makes sense if you consider that ridiculous price for an North-American made instrument that even sports EMGs etc.

That doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad Floyd though. After all even the Schaller and Gotoh Floyds are "just" licensed and are equally as good, if not better, as the OFR (also made by Schaller).

From what people have been telling me about the Godin quality, I don't think that their Floyd (if it's a licensed one) will outright suck.

Edit:

It is indeed a licensed Floyd, review here: http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/Issue/2009/Oct/Godin_Redline_3_Electric_Guitar_Review.aspx

Schaller makes the modern OFR's anyways.. so Schallers are just as good.

Oh I'm well aware that there are licensed Floyds that are just as good if not better - what concerns me is that there are also licensed Floyds that definitely are NOT. However, that was a pretty positive review, and they look great (minus the headstock, but if that's the only sacrifice at that price I can live with it!) Thanks Slash!

They're not identical though. The Schaller licensed ones use a different (harder) base plate for example. I like 'em a tiny bit better than the OFRs.

@ Marcus: Yeah that reviewer sounds pretty legit, so I'm thinking about maybe ordering one too. Would have to be a maple board one though. :loco:
