I found the album completely uninventive. Howard has become so predictable with his lyrics and phrasing. It just sounds like more of the same without any real growth in the band.

but GUISE
ITS DARKER AND HEAVIER AND MORE MELODIC THIS TIME
CANT YOU SEE?!

</generic roadrunner marketing bullshit>

i think howard jones needs to stop being such a cheesy cunt

HOWARD JONES ---------- ---------- = ---------- ---------- ---------------- UNCLE PHIL

I like it so far...I usually like them at first and tire of them pretty fast. Production is good but the snare is pretty damn loud...seems to be the trend on a lot of albums these days.

The snare is pretty loud, kick way quieter than As Daylight Dies. Overall, I dig the album. I can see why people don't but I really think it's solid.

I agree with whoever said they haven't really "grown". That may be a negative, it seems like TEOH, ADD, and the self titled's order could have been mixed up and no one would care. But at the same time, its more of the same goodness for me as a fan of the band.

album is a bit of a let down, gets very boring after about 4 songs and those first 4 song aint great......... what has happened :mad::mad:

I think several songs are very very very good on the album, but still nothing that tops Alive or Just Breathing. Overall, I like the album. I think it's solid.

My favorites are: Starting Over, The Forgotton, Reckoning, This is Goodbye, and A light in a darkened world, in no particular order.

By the way, check out the solo in "never again" Freaking sweet!

Maybe it's just the myspace player, but the guitars low end sounds horrible on palm mutes, like they just cranked the lows and didn't compress the low end.
