Among the Horrors
I know plenty of people on here use or have used last.fm, Spotify, etc. for streaming music needs. I upgraded my couple of PCs to Windows 8 and have gained access to Xbox Music (already available on the Xbox).

I have to say the extreme metal library is rather impressive right out of the gate, and using the Smart DJ option has not left me disappointed, except for instance the inability to differentiate between technical death metal and the non-technical variety.

The amount of control and whole albums available vs Pandora or last.fm seems like no contest, and the commercial break for a free user are few and far between, and short when they do come up. No idea how long that situation will last of course.

I have a subscription to Xbox Music's predecessor, Zune. I pay a 15.00 monthly fee and you are right that Microsoft's extreme music library is impressive. For $15 I get unlimited streaming and 10 songs to download a month.
