Yamaha mg166c usb or cubase 5 problem

this a noob question but i have probably just missed something

i cant seem to record anything using my mixer onto cubase, i have connected my Yamaha mg166c via laptop via usb and on the device setup i have 2 mono inputs and 1 stereo input and i have 1 left and 1 right output, all of these are active. on the connections tab everything is active and on my selected track i have either mono 1 or 2 inputs and a stereo output selected.

i dont a a clue why its not working, i can use my itunes to plau music through my mixer, so im confused on if it is a mixer problem or something ive missed on cubase

have you tried reading from the yamahas manual if you can return stuff to the mixer via usb?
