Yeeps or Yee-Prays?

I always thought its pronouced Woods of E-pray. then some teacher told me that the actual place, Ypres, in Belgium is pronouced eeps. but im sticking with the first one until i hear otherwise from David or something

I'm Belgian and this is how the name of our city, Ypres, is pronounced:

EE-prh or EE-pr

Be careful not to say EE-per or EE-pur.

It has got to be a short, soft, and windy "prh".

EDIT: If anybody wants me to, I could record a sound file of me saying it.

Ypres is francais
That's one of the best ways to offend 60% of the Belgian population, ie the Flemish part, myself counted within. Ypres is obviously the English version of Ieper, which is the way the name of the place is actually written. And my compatriot flemflames up here is correct in his way of describing the pronunciation.
On the other hand, David has said a few times how the bandmembers pronounce their name "Woods of Eepray" so just go with that when referring to the band. I know I do.

Holy shit, this is out of hand!!! :ill:

With us, as in this band, according to us it's pronounced "E-Pray", as in the Windsor, Ontario, CANADA pronunciation (where the band was founded and where the band name came from, the park on Ypres Rd. etc...).

That's my final answer. :)
