I think they are very mundane and pedestrian black metal, I cannot understand why they are so lauded when they are about as original as Marduk.

They've got their good moments and they've got their boring as fuck moments. In the whole scheme of things they're among the better black metal bands, but that really doesn't say tremendously much.
