Your 1st Ass kicking rock band...

Kind of the way I look at it, they just have some fucking catchy songs is all, but at the end of the day it makes sense because they were never even nu-metal they're pop-rap-metal, a bunch of unthreatening looking guys who can play instruments and had a sort of "edginess" to them. Why do you think the majority of their fan base was female? But their again any band who associates it self with Johnathan Davies is automtically shite.

My dad played the Immigrant Song by Zep one halloween when I was maybe 3, so it was maybe 1977, and it scared the shit out of me. Awesome.

The first tape I ever bought was Metal Health by Quiet Riot. Hell yeah. Everyone in my fourth grade class argued whether or not kevin DuBrow was singing "Girls fuck your boys" on "cum on feel the noize". It totally amazes me now that any of us even knew what fucking was...

:OMG: I never heard about any good bands in school, ever, other than commercial rap shite. What city were you in, and I don't believe that about being 3.

What about my being 3 is unbelievable to you? I have no reason to lie about that. The Everly Brothers' "Time Has Come Today" scared the piss out of me, too.

I went to elementary school in Billerica, MA. It was the 1983-84 school year. Breakdancing was huge, but rap wasn't really commercial yet. Or so I remember it.

my first rock band, as a can remember, was alien sex fiend... but i got into the metal stuff with metallica... i have good memories too with defecation (the blast beats, the grows, the dirty riffs were like an orgasm for me). that's it.

Heart

not my first, nor the most ass-kicking, but theyre one of those bands i never tired of and have been listening to proportionally longer than most of the stuff i listen to nowadays.

Other than them, the other ive been listening to longer than most of teh stuff i do now is probably Silverchair.

Hey SoundDave, you were like 15 minutes away from me.
I grew up in the city of Sin, but moved to Peabody when I got out of highschool.
Thanks to my city's growing heroin & Oxy problem, we're earning a reputation as H-Town !

I used to jam at a friends house in Billerica 5-6 yrs ago.
We all sucked, so we never put anything together.
It was still fun.

Ah, Lynn. You never come out the way you went in... Had jury duty a few years ago in Lynn. During our lunch break, I happened to spot one of my fellow jurors buying drugs near the courthouse. She had directed me to a sandwich shop earlier because she said she was familiar with the city. So familiar she knew where to find a dealer. I was about to ask her if she wanted company walking back to the courthouse. I decided to take a different route. She went right back into the courthouse, state troopers and all, and sat next to me like nothing had happened. I kept wondering what she bought, and the hypocrisy of her being on a jury... Crazy.

I'm in Haverhill now, btw.

Yeah, no shortage of drugs in that town, but I guess the same could be said for every city & town. My brother lives in the Riverside area of Haverhill. A friend of mine also just moved there recently. Seems like a decent place to be.

Figures you get sent to Lynn for Jury Duty. The last 2 times I served, they sent me to Lawrence. No good stories to share though... I'm just happy my car wasn't stolen.
