Yes indeedy! They might not be as fast n' flashy as some of the names on that list, but they can twiddle diddle along with the best of 'em.

Bruce certainly fitted the "shredder" category on Asylum and Crazy Nights IMHO. It was only on Revenge that he started playing with more of a bluesy flavour, and continues to do so to this very day.

All those guitarists you mentioned Wrathy are great guitarists but by "shredder" I'm more talking about flashy metal lead guitarists with a reputation as being a "guitar hero" among young guitarists and aspiring shredders hehe, rather than just good lead guitarists in metal/rock bands.

Bruce could definitely shred though and is a brilliant guitarist.

Yeah - a shredder in my opinion is someone who you play air guitar to and don't worry if you stuff up all the notes because they're playing so fast anyway :)

Heheheh yep exactly. Slash, Gary Moore, Lynch etc... aren't exactly technically "shredders" coz they don't play the fast and furious type stuff, but they definitely fit as guitar heroes/virtuosos in metal.

How many kids in the early '90s wanted to be Slash??? :D I did!!

That reminds me of the other criteria for the dudes on the list... guitarists who kinda steal the show in the band and are either the focus of the band or solo artists (Vai, Malmsteen, Satch, Van Halen, etc) or are 2nd only to the singer in attention, such as Ozzy's guitarists or Slash or George Lynch.... but even in those cases probably half of the fans focus on them moreso than Ozzy, Don Dokken or Axl. I know I do for one hehe.

Exactly. I judge which era of Ozzy's solo stuff I like based on who the guitarist is. The Randy era, the Jake era, the Zakk era, and so on. And guys like Dave Murray and Adrian Smith don't have enough of an individual personality to appear on such a list.
