Tony from Nile is a monster. Check out is his work in Angel Corpse and his stint with God Dethroned and you realize just how solid and versatile the bastard is.

5. Andrew Galeon (Listen to The Ultra-Violence and you will understand...great live, too.)
4. Richard Christy (Technical brilliance)
3. Scott Travis (Never heard a better live or live album drummer.)
2. Gene Hoglan (Two words: Darkness fucking Descends. I mean, three words.)
1. Dave Lombardo (OWNS YOUR SOUL!!)
Glad somebody mentioned Errlandson from Arch Enemy...gotta include Van also. Marky from Coroner laid down some great beats back in the day, and you can't dismiss Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater or Mark Zonder from Fates Warning. The new guy with Chimaira is awesome too.
Ughh im gonna kill myself. didnt anyone see the thread awhile back which explained how barker basically cheats with all his drumming abilities. Like Iris said, hes fast with his hands, but he dosent double bass that fast, and all he fucking does are blastbeats.
