Your favorite post apocalyptic films

Twelve Monkeys is a brilliant film, though with the downer nature of the film I don't rewatch it often. A Boy and His Dog and The Quiet Earth are sci-fi classics that I recommend renting/stealing.

I've heard good things about a movie called "On the Beach", which is about a submarine that is underwater when the nuclear bombs fall and when it emerges, the crew has to flee from the fallout. My brother said it didn't leave him with a comfortable feeling.

Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior is an absolute fuckin classic

seems obvious, but its older than a lot of posters here, so i mention it anyway.

this scotish guy did an in-depth annalysis that i think is really interesting and insightful if you're into this film:

I love Mad Max, Road Warrior hands down two of the most kick ass films. Soylent Green falls into that category and another fine film. Omega Man is on my list as well.
Also, all the above mentioned movies. On the beach was great and worth checking out.
