This follows a similar train of thought to a MDU thread but since so many people here were at the gig to end all gigs I figured it was worth firing up here.

Prior to seeing Iron Maiden live I would've listed my favourite albums as follows:

Before:
------------------------------
Somewhere in Time *****
Brave New World *****

------------------------------
X Factor ****
Virtual XI ****

Number of the Beast ***
A Matter of Life and Death ***
Dance of Death ***

Fear of the Dark ***
------------------------------
Powerslave **
Piece of Mind **
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son **
No Prayer For The Dying *
------------------------------
Killers *
Iron Maiden *
------------------------------

Seeing them live changes everything :worship:

After:
------------------------------
Somewhere in Time *****
Brave New World *****
Powerslave *****
------------------------------
Seventh Son of a Seventh Day Adventist ****
Number of the Beast ****

Fear of the Dark ****
Piece of Mind ****
------------------------------
Virtual XI ***
X Factor ***
Dance of Death ***
A Matter of Life and Death ***
No Prayer For The Dying **

------------------------------
Killers *
Iron Maiden *

------------------------------

As the first band I ever got into outside of Metallica they've always been a sentimental favourite but again, after actually seeing them... whoa :worship:

I'm interested to see how others would rank their albums (except for Ben who we all know has no taste).

Somewhere in time
Seventh Son
Number of the Beast
Powerslave
Piece of Mind
Brave New World
Fear of the Dark
A Matter of Life and Death
Killers
Iron Maiden
Dance of Death
No Prayer for the Dying
X Factor
Viryual XI

Iron Maiden by miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiles.

I would rate the rest of them in order but I can't be fucked tossing up over (har) the rest of their catalogue. I will however, say that surprisingly, I really rate Brave New World (not as much as most other Iron Maiden releases, but it's bloody solid - IMO the best vocal performance of Dickinson too).

X Factor and Virtual XI don't count as Iron Maiden albums because they are SHIT.

You are insane Ferret how can X-factor and virtual XI be so high and Iron Maiden be last:OMG:
It is way to hard to choose which is my favourite, and put the rest in order i'll give it a shot though would probably go
Iron Maiden
Brave new world
Somewhere in time
Powerslave
piece of mind
Number of the beast
7th son
Killers
A matter of life
Fear of the dark
Dance of death
no prayer

And for the last two... What Pyro said

In order from top to bottom:

Powerslave
Seventh son
Somewhere in time
brave new world
Iron maiden

All the rest i still love but i'll usually reach for one of these in the car first.

Blaze era maiden doesn't exist in my books.

[end of list]
X Factor
Viryual XI

Bah, you're all bloody posers :zombie:
Virtual XI is pure fucking gold except for the part where "The Angel And The Gambler" keeps skipping in the same spot during the chorus on every CD I've ever heard.

Iron Maiden
Killers

Paul Dianno era Wins

Then

Somewhere In Time
Piece Of Mind (except the last 3 songs on the album are total shit)
Seventh Son
Powerslave
Brave New World
Number Of The Beast

Iron Maiden
Seventh Son
Piece Of Mind
Somewhere In Time
Powerslave
Brave New World
Killers
Number of the Beast

The rest vary between average and shit.

The Number Of The Beast
Seventh Son
Somewhere In Time
then the rest in no particular order although the Blaze albums fall somewhere between the bottom of the list and a never ending abyss that even see's me rate MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE albums higher!
Although that could be a slight exageration.

X Factor is actually pretty good. I should have put it just below NOTB. Blaze fails mostly because of his inability to sing the Bruce era stuff.

That's just the thing... Blaze's vocals might not suit Iron Maiden that well but the music on those two albums still kicks arse and hearing Bruce perform any of the Blaze-era material totally rips pants.
