Your Favourite Metal Guitarist

Can't limit to one:

Bob Vigna (experimentation/mind-blowing solos)
Pogrom/Gelal Necrosodomy (catchy, original riffs galore)
Alf Svensson (At the Gates's creative spark-man)
Antti Boman (insanity on harmonics)
Count Grishnackh (simple playing but effective in intent)
Infernus (BM riff machine)
Alan Jones (classy guitar-work/solos)
Mike Scalzi (much like above)
Eric Friesen (great compositional approach)

Jeff Loomis (Nevermore)
Johan Söderberg and Olavi Mikkonen (both guitarists for Amon Amarth)
Timo Tolki (Stratovarius)
Fredrik Norrman (Katatonia)
Jon Nödtveidt (Dissection)
K.K. Warslut and Shrapnel (Destroyer 666)
Varg Vikernes
Whoever does guitars for Moonspell is good.

If I had to pick a favorite it would be Dissection's Jon Nödtveidt whom sadly commited suicide :(

Hendrix, Page, Iommi, Mustaine, Dimebag, Marc Rizzo(Soulfly)

There are many other great guitarists, but these are revolutionary.

^ take back all the shit-talking grinder...
dime's #1 on your list:kickass:

 dude, i'm the biggest Dime Fan

i think bands like pantera and metallica need to change thier names to pantero and metallico, the masculine version, maybe that will make them better.

Dude, Pantera is panter in portuguese, and in latin is Panthera.

I dunno, but i guess they just take off the letter H from the latin version

I can support Solipists comments but Varg is a terrible guitarist.

P.S: Dime kicked arse.

already mentioned but :

Randy Rhoads
Jake E. Lee (Ozzy era)
David Gilmour
Jimmy Page
Eddie Van Halen (he was good till his tongue started falling off with the bottle attached to it lol )
Satriani (Surfing with the Alien era only)
Chris Poland (Peace Sells era)
Slash (i always thought he was underrated because of what band(s) he was in... but his leads were good imo with GnR)
Dave Murray/Adrian Smith - underrated...

There are others but can't think of them right now...
