but they only want to fuck
long haired guys from england

there's this girl at my record company
i dig her but she doesn't like me
i met her boyfriend the other night
he had a pony tail and he didn't talk right

he was a long haired guy from england
long haired guy from united kingdom

all the girls in this here bar
will treat you like you're a star
don't get excited it's just luck
they'll ignore you if the guy from the cult shows up

'cause he's a long haired guy from england
long haired guy from united kingdom

i'm getting on an aeroplan
going someplace where the girls are sane
i bet in london i could get a date
'cause i'm a short haired guy from the united states

i'm not a long haired guy from england
long haired guy from united kingdom

that's the end of this here song
it's about as short as my hair is long
so i'm getting on my motorbike
going someplace where the girls don't like

longhaired guys from england
long haired guy from united kingdom
:headbang:

Funny, every bar I go to, I get stared at like I'm some freak because of my hair. I guess I need to put on the british accent, maybe that'll change things.

You need to put on a Norwegion accent most of them all have long hair.

Me being British, I have never come accross that many people with long hair, I have shoulder length hair - but only because I like to be different.

On the topic of British stuff, I eat crumpets and drink tea everyday, and Paul likes a British pop band-Coldplay!

Yes indeed. I enjoy alot of different kinds of music, pop music very much included. I grew out of that whole "metal is the only music for me, fuck the world" mentality a long time ago. lol I still love metal, but I can get alot out of other kinds of music as well....yes, even Abba.

Matter of fact, there's a great many metal/hard rock musicians who enjoy or are influenced by Abba. The way their music is structured is quite interesting at times, and their use of harmonies was awesome.

Keane was playing in Milwaukee when we were in the studio, about 10 minutes from us, and I was pissed I missed them. If I listened to only metal, I'd hang myself. Isn't the entire mindset of a metalhead is to be open minded? Most metalheads are some of most close minded people out there. Someone needs to let them in on the secret that it's OK to like other forms of music, and it doesn't make you any less metal.

Ha to be honest there larry, most metal ( newer certantly ) is awful and bores the hell out of me. I prefer other music to metal ( there are a few special bands though in metal ). Keane is just garbage compared to bands like Paatos, RadioHead it sounds very second rate. Admitley i am not a fan of pop music that is done with the sort of instruments keane use (other bands, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Hard Fi...)Simply because theres so much more you can with that sort of thing and they choose not to, although fair play to them if they enjoy creating it, but i dont know if they do..... I am more of a fan of cheesy pop music.

I would agree with quite a few of these actually.

Shit, that's a great list Mister Shhh, I like almost every one of those songs. If that were a mix cd I would definitely listen to it regularly.

Okay real quick for the hell of it, here's a list of some more songs that I think are the greatest/favorites-

"America"- Simon And Garfunkel
"Whipping Post"- Allman Bros.
"In A Big Country"- Big Country
"West End Girls"- Pet Shop Boys
"Catch"- The Cure
"The Hanging Garden"- The Cure
"Porpoise Song"- The Monkees (actually Trouble do a great cover of this too)
"Everybody's Talkin'"- Nilsson
"Sister Golden Hair"- America
"Under the Milky Way"- The Church
"New Moon On Monday"- Duran Duran
"My Sweet Lord"- George Harrison
"Layla"- Derek & The Dominos (Duanne Allman's slide guitar at the end of the song is so moving, he was the best)

Ugh this could go on and on....

I'm still working on my all metal list, that'll come soon hopefully....

Like magical Pop? try some Pineforest Crunch. All of their records are good, but I really prefer "Pamemarenko" A swedish band with Asa Ecklund as the singer. Maybe more addictive than crack.

half of Roy Orbison's catalog goes in here- the left half. and then the rest of the space would be filled with the right half of Badfinger's catalog.

now i have Crying and Baby Blue stuck in my head
