my dying groom- i only have a wintersunset from empyrium, which is quite amazing (i think they overused the keyboard abit but thats ok)...is that "weiland" album any good? do you recommend it? oh, that "frozen" album is awesome...

is that "weiland" album any good? do you recommend it?

I think it's great, yet I would only recommend it to those who also liked the predecessor and/or Ulver's second masterpiece 'cause it's so 'mellow'. But hell yeah, Schwadorf knows how to create audible beauty.
Since you're fond of A Wintersunset, you might be pleased to hear that harsh vocals return in Weiland occasionally, in addition drums and bass are back. Keyboards and (electric) guitars are completely gone though.

To my mind 'Songs Of Moors & Misty Fields' stays on top, but Weiland is a close second.

Yeah, I can't wait until they finally get their new album out, last I heard it was september, but that is likley to be pushed back. Billy Howerdel is awesome.
