We've all found hidden (and not so hidden) gems on YouTube..show us what you've found!

Here's my latest..I LOVE this song.

Michael Schenker Group - Rock My Nights Away <Live '83>

Not familiar with that lineup. I caught onto Michael Schenker when he took on Robin McAuley at vocals and retitled the MSG...McAuley-Schenker Group. I had that band's first two discs, the first of which(Perfect Timing) was really good. The two songs I currently have on my iTunes from that one are "Gimme Your Love" and "Follow The Night".

Awesome!!! That was when I was a HUGE MSG fan. Gary Barden was my hero. I still want to do a cover of "Never Talk to Strangers". That song still moves me.

Here's another of my long lost favorites. Blue Murder live, playing "Billy". Now this was an amazing line-up. 3 of my favorite musicians in one band!

That truly is a gem. John Sykes has always been one of my favorite guitarists (and way too underrated) and I love Tony Franklin's bass playing. What a great band! Good find Rooster

That album was a good work. Good musicians all round. Although I was kinda freaked and saddened for so long. I figured Tony wasn't getting any proceeds from the songwriting and his contributions, therefore he had to go barefooted. Couldn't afford shoes and a hairbrush.

When the progressive bands of the 70's faded away (or converted to progressive crap like Kansas) I got heavily into the UK prog scene (referred to by many as "neo-prog") and became fans of bands like IQ, Marillion, Arena and Pendragon. Many of the musicians over there play in several bands (Marillion's original drummer hooked up with Pendragon's keyboardist Clive Nolan to form Arena, John Jowitt played bass for both IQ and Arena, etc.). Below is a video of Pendragon's "Paintbox" performed by lead vocalist/guitarist Nick Barrett and keyboardist Clive Nolan. I love these guys. I know most of you have never heard of them or won't like them (Nick actually sings using his heavy British accent), but I consider this a gem. I also love the lyrics. Being an artist the use of metaphors are very close and personal to me.

Here's another one. This is John Miles (used to sing at least one song on every Alan Parsons album) performing one his his Alan Parson's gems called La Segrada De Familia. His guest guitarist is amazing, so watch it all the way through.

That's beautiful! I've never heard the original, but I love that version. He's a damn good guitarist. I'll have to check them out.

Wow, I wonder if that song is about the La Sagrada de Familia in Barcelona (unfinished church designed by Gaudi; thing is freakin amazing!).

Well there you go! BTW, that Pendragon tune is really good. I looked them up on youtube and I really like their stuff. Whats a good album to start with?

Gary Moore - Murder in the Skies

I know Brett & the Steves remember this..anyone else remember when the Soviets shot down that plane?

*wanders off to dig up my We Want Moore cd*

The Masquerade Overture is a good one. I have a very rare two-disc copy of it that I can get you some samples from before you buy it if you want. Let me know.

I don't think anyone will ever out-do this song for emotional expression. What Jeff Beck does on this standard Strat is nothing shy of inhuman! I never tire of hearing this song. I am SOOOO not worthy! :worship:

Isn't that nice? A guitarist friend of mine was over here the other night and said, "You gotta see this!" I must have played it over about half a dozen times.
