Are you aware of a thing called personal preference? I love Dani Filth's and Shagrath's voices:headbang:, but I don't push them on anybody else. It's all about what moves you, personally.

Koelling tried for ages to get me to like Hogarth, but it didn't take. Hogarth's voice just doesn't appeal to me. When he joined the band, they stopped being Marillion, in my opinion. Fish and his influence on the band made them what I loved. No big deal. I just don't buy their music any more.

Keeping in mind: Their worst record will sell 10,000 times more than my best record ever will. So clearly, my opinion is worth a pile of shit.

Dude, I meant the whole Hogarth comment as more of tongue in cheek kinda of comment. I know all about personal preference. As it's very evident there are strict lines drawn in the Fish vs. Hogarth debate. As a Marillion fan Since Misplaced Childhood I have a strong appreciation for Fish and his lyrics.

One of my all time favorite Marillion-with-Hogarth videos and songs is Easter from the CD Season's End. Rothery's guitar solo is amazing. Sorrell's solo style has always reminded me of his, and this song in particular comes to mind sometimes when I listen to the Rooster play. Below are two videos. The first is the official release from 1989, and the second is live on stage with some of the Dream Theater guys.

Great Song... I caught Marillion live at the Filmore a couple years ago. They don't tour the states often and I was so glad I went. THey were great...
A few of my favorite songs are Estonia, One Fine Day and the Title track (off of This Strange Engine), Easter, Uninvited Guest (off Season's end), Under the Sun, Three Minute Boy (off Radiation), House (off of Marillion.com LOVE THIS SONG) Neverland (off of MArbles) BeaUTIFUL (off of Afraid of Sunlight) Bridge, The Great Escape (off of Brave)

Lets change this up a bit. How about some classic Iron Maiden!

Aces High (with Churchill speech)

The Trooper!!!

Man, there was a time when everything Maiden released was gold. It started with Number of the Beast and carried on through Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Seventh Son and even Somewhere in Time. Their music was consistent - which, during those years (1982 thru 1988) was an amazing feat, since no other band (in my opinion) did. Great vids Gary.

Here's two videos from one of my all time favorite metal bands, JP.

The hellion/Electric Eye (live)

Freewheel Burning (check out Halford in the Pole Position car, LOL!)

KK Downing and Glen Tipton are just solid.

I went to every tour of both Maiden and Priest... They both kicked ass with the best live shows...

Here is a couple from one of my favorite metal bands of all time.. I will never be able to see them live...

This is couple from thier last concert...

Sentenced

The Last song they ever played live... Love the song structure to End of The Road... The vocals are bit rough because Ville was pretty emotional but the Solo At The end is fantastic...:kickass:

Very cool stuff! That marks the first and second time I've ever heard them. I completely missed their whole career. I'll have to check out some of their studio material.

Do you know why they disbanded? I see that Ville is now singer and guitarist for Poisonblack. I'm gonna check them out too.

Black Sabbath was such a great band - but their departure from Ozzy was the best thing that could happen.....it resulted in Blizzard of Oz, Heaven and Hell, Diary of a Madman, Mob Rules, Bark at the Moon, etc., etc. I believe BS got better after they paqrted ways, and Ozzy's solo stuff was simply awesome. He's so young in those videos.

I believe they just felt it appropriate to go out on a high note and "kill the freakin' Band" at the top of their game. They have so many songs about the end of it all, that it was very apropo.

I can recommend a few great albums

Frozen
Cold White Light
The Funeral Album

And the Buried Alive DVD of the last concert and it has a lot of extra footage of the entire final tour...

Poisonblack is very similar, but not quite the same... I miss the anticipation of a new Sentenced CD... They were one of my favorites...:worship:

I can't argue with that Steve. Not one bit. :)

Tony Martin may be the most unknown and underrated singer ever. Nightwing really shows off his pipes. He was my favorite Black Sabbath singer.

here is one of my favorite 80's bands I almost forgot about.

Y&T
This Time

Don't Stop Running

I've seen Y&T several times live (original and last lineups) and they were amazing every time. "This Time" is one of my favorites. Again, great choice Gary!
