YouTubery for the masses

Yeah. It's easy now to put him on a pedestal, since there's no telling what he may have ended up doing. But what he did do while he was alive was astounding IMO. And to think he got beat out for Comedian of the Year the year he died by fucking Carrot Top.

Yeah.

Hicks does have that status of being worshipped because he is a "dead hero" but I take comfort in the fact if he didn't die, he would probably still do the vitriolic intelligent thought provoking comedy that he always did and moved on to other mediums, such as writing.

not sure if he would've ever been corrupted and given a TV and movie deal or even if he would be considered to be given such a deal.

and giving Carrot Top Comic of the Year was a fucking insult and, as lots of comics and people have said, a way of rewarding benality over what is actually thought provoking.

and so the trend continues.
for evermore.

Posted on the TM forum by Ferret, Frank Zappa on a talkshow discussing censorship and the issues of America, especially the ultra conservative nature of America.

A must see.

He certainly keeps his cool. That is impressive; he holds to the specific issue at hand while the other guy tries to lead him off on tangents by asking him to agree or disagree with unreated things being right or wrong.

Zappa has an exceptionally brilliant mind and knew all the arguments around rock music and censorship because he had been arguing over them for so long.

It's funny how they never attack his music and whenever he brings up a valid point, they try to steer him away and he keeps too it.
He literally builds himself a verbal position and defends it really well, whilst people try to pile him up with other irrelevent information -especially over that Prince 'incest' bit, which was hugely out of context and pointless to argue, which Frank tried to tell them all.

One of the most unappreciated bands of our time, Fates Warning. For some reason I used to hate Ray Alder's voice but I've really gotten used to it over the years.
