They are basically a combination of early Neurosis and early Godflesh. VERY heavy. They are on Earache, so I'm surprised it took me this long to find them.

Pretty good stuff, but I like the other 2 albums sent by Codebreaker a little better (Z were on Codebreaker before getting picked up by Earache). Check out Abandon and Figure of Merit.

Anybody heard the new Overmars yet? I got it for review, and its damn good.

Is it out yet? I fucking loved their split with Fugue. You ever see their first cd? They were kinda a boyband?

No shit?? I didn't even know they HAD a debut album. I thought it was just a couple of splits and this was their first full length. Were they going by Overmars at that time?

The album comes out in the US a week from Tuesday, I believe.

EDIT: Review: "After reading the glowing reviews of this record, I immediately went out and bought a copy. I couldn't wait to pop it in and be blown away. I think that's a different Overmars. A couple of the reviews mention them being American (from NY). The singer is also listed as Brendan. These guys are French.

That song isn;t nearly as good as any of the 3 songs on the split.

It's being distributed by Candlelight, no real surprise as they've invested heavily into French bands. Need to get it as the linked track is awesome. I've heard the name Zatokrev being mentioned before, I hope they're not another Neurosis clone...
