Zines worth checking out?

Oaken Throne is amazing. Easily one of the best, if not THE best out there today. I put it on par with the Convivial Hermit. Well written, no concern with kissing ass in reviews, and well-thought-out interviews/features that are not your standard BS...at least IMO.

Highly recommended.

Alf Mamba,

I just purchased Issue #3 and #5 from your distro. :kickass:

Edit- Know of any place that still has a couple copies of #1 & #2? Probably a long shot.

Cool...I just saw that. Thanks!! They will ship tomorrow.

As for the others, I've never even seen issue 1. I just sold out of issue 2 recently. It was released in Winter of 2004 and had been long sold out. I'm not quite sure how/why copies emerged this summer, but I jumped on the opportunity. I'll send a message to them to see if there are any copies left. I'll let you know what I hear. Thanks again!!

...is there anybody out there who would sell me his/her Convivial Hermit 1???...or may be trade for some CD's (I have e.g. Prophecy Promos or others...may be Neun Welten :kickass:)...would be great...cheers and thanks!

Yeah why not... I have to wrestle it back from Dev first though :)
Maybe we could meet in Leipzig sometime in September to spare postage...

Splendid issue! mostly because I'm in it :Smug:

where? (i'm guessing one of the travelogues?)

Received the issue today. As expected there's a ton of content. I've read a few of the interviews and a couple reviews. Besides a handful, I am unfamiliar with a large amount of the cd's that are reviewed; gives me a chance to check out tons of new stuff. This goes for the interviews as well really (i've already checked out mp3s from the argentinan folk band, who thankfully mentioned they will abandon all black metal in the future..the folk is where its at). The aforementioned travelogues are always an interesting read as well.

Featured artists? I really don't wish to read about Malefic's school boy misanthrope for the umpteenth time.

I highly recommend the Pagan Herald (Yuri covers it in the last Convivial Hermit). In depths interviews, interesting articles, and pages upon pages of album reviews.
