Black Sabbath - The End

Some more detail....

Black Sabbath announce their final tour

"...If heavy metal was born in 1970 with the release of the first Black Sabbath tour, a chapter of it is coming to an end in 2016, as Black Sabbath have announced their farewell tour. Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Some Drummer Guy That’s Not Bill Ward will be undertaking what’s being billed as THE END, starting in January in Omaha. Still not announced: the opening act or who’ll be drumming for the band. The odds would have it being Tommy Clufetos, but we’ll have to wait to find out. More dates will be announced in October and tickets for these ones look to be going on sale next Saturday (12) from Live Nation.

Here’s the totally non-hyperbolic announcement from the press release:"

It’s the Beginning of THE END.

It started nearly five decades ago with a crack of thunder, a distant bell ringing and then that monstrous riff that shook the earth. The heaviest rock sound ever heard.

In that moment Heavy Metal was born, created by a young band from Birmingham, England barely out of their teens.

Now it ENDS, the final tour by the greatest Metal Band of all time, BLACK SABBATH. Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler close the final chapter in the final volume of the incredible BLACK SABBATH story.

BLACK SABBATH’s farewell tour, THE END, begins on January 20, 2016 and it promises to surpass all previous tours with their most mesmerizing production ever.

When this tour concludes, it will truly be THE END,

THE END of one of most legendary bands in Rock ’n Roll history…

BLACK SABBATH RELEASE 4-MINUTE VIDEO OF THE END TOUR REHEARSALS

The show in San Jose was fantastic. That video did not do it justice. Ozzy actually sounded great (maybe a little rough on maybe 2 or 3 songs toward the end). I was actually planning on this being the only time I was going to see them on this tour, but now I'm thinking on going once again in September. I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to Black Sabbath quite yet.

I was (still) on the fence about snagging a ticket and checking it out. This gives me hope for the KC show next week.
