Yeah, exactly what I feel too. This album is just too different from the previous ones. And some Opeth fans here don't seem to tolerate that some people like me get frustrated when trying to clear out for themselves why the latest opus doesn't hit like a ten ton hammer...:confused:

Perhaps '10 years of chaos and confusion', at least it covers their career quite well...except for the latest release, of course :p Still I'm not sure if it's fair to pick the Best Of -album...but who cares :cool:

Is Arch Enemy really Swedish? I thought the Amott brothers are from England and Angela Gossow from Germany...or then it's Swedish just because few band members are...

In addition to the obvious, David Vincent has a unique kind of growl IMHO. Not as deep Åkerfeldt's, but as haunting as hell (where he presumably has his origins...). I have been listening to Morbid Angel quite extensively the past few years, and few can match his ability to articulate his gowls...

The new Opeth CD has been praised by a local Finnish university metal fan club too. Seems that only I disagree. As said, the sound is different from Opeth's earlier works. Too different, somewhat too clean or soft...I don't know. The previous albums hit me instantly, now this one didn't. And do...

I am a cousin to one of TOC's musicians and heard the raw version of their new cd, which is to be released on May 6 here in Finland. I must confirm: style HAS changed dramatically and for the extreme better...no traces of COB left whatsoever.
