That new guy mastering here :)

Was this recorded live by the whole band in the same room?

Full mix , I want opinions please.

Personally I think the choruses sound pretty good, I like the guitar tones. The overheads/cymbals have a little bit too much top end though (10khz+) if you brought that down a bit you could add it onto the vocal to give it a bit more presence and air. The hi hats in certain points of the song...

Remixing our track. I could use some ears.

No worries, the guitars are defiantly sounding more focused and sitting better in the mix.

Feedback request: Vocaloid symphonic metal mix

Right, this is what I have now and I'm pretty happy with it. Would like to get some feedback before I do the final touches on the vocal automation. Once again no mastering, just the raw mix as it currently stands. http://soundcloud.com/luke-cotton/nine-tails-still-need-to/s-9dU1V Thanks.

    Contortionist Type Song

Double it up and pitch shift it then.

    Problem with the deep freq.

My first thought regarding your problem with inconsistent sub bass dynamics is that its probably your room. A lot of the higher sub bass frequencies are getting excited by the reflections and standing waves causing them to sound more pronounced than your lower sub bass. Are the dynamics still a...

    What to trust when listening?

May I suggest the VRM box for those of you with limited test set ups e.g. home stereo, car, headphones, ipods etc... I use a VRM box myself and find it helps my mixes translate well without ever leaving my chair. Of course you will need a moderately expensive pair of headphones to get the full...

Need feedback on this short mix

My first impression was that it sounds pretty good. nice seperation between the instruments and the bass blends well with the guitars... almost too well! haha. The only things I would consider tweaking is the kick drum and snare. The kick sounds a little puffy, try some subtractive EQ on the...

Remixing our track. I could use some ears.

Hello again... After listening back on my DT990's I think you're suffering from the (what some call) "cardboard" frequencies. I think you'll find a nice wide cut between 700hz-1.2khz (perhaps around -6dB maybe a little more, whatever sounds best to you really) will make the guitars more focused...

So where do I go from here?

im listening through a pair of DT990 pro's so should be able to offer you some relatively sound advice. First of all are you using a high pass filter on the guitars? if so ease up on it quite a bit, your loosing a lot of useful low end in them. I like what you've done with the panning of the...

What do you do when someone from OUR forum possibly has stolen your money?

Paypal are likely not going to be able to help much, you marked the transaction as "received" so it is his word against yours which will leave you in a stalemate. You should never have agreed to do that, the "received" option is there so the funds can be released when you get the item not for...

The only thing I can suggest is that you try one of the reamping services listed on this forum. Or borrow an amp from a friend and run a clean line out to the amp then back into a separate track to record.

Need feedback on This Widek&Backe Song I've been working on..

From my experience with guitars in this genre and others its usually best to keep the rhythm as dry (no reverb) as possible and keep the low pass filter above 7khz so it has enough top end to sit pretty at the front of the mix, if it needs to be moved back in the mix a little just bring the low...

Remixing our track. I could use some ears.

I cant really comment on the guitar tone as the speakers I have in front of me at this point in time are tinny and of poor quality, but if you feel that the guitar tone is not right then its not right. If we tell you that it sounds right or wrong, it will still sound wrong to you. go back until...
