Is Mikael a fan of Pain of Salvation?

In an interview with Mikael about 3 or 4 years ago, he was commented on seeing POS live in Sweden and heaped much praise on their live work, but noted that he was not a big fan of their studio stuff.

    the mars volta

Deloused was brilliant, Frances was alright. I was a bit disappointed in them live, though. Too many off-key solos.

Opeth fans, what's in your cd player right now?

The Devin Townsend Band - Synchestra (Promo) Fantastic music...really good stuff. On par w/ Terria and Ocean Machine.

    Opeth on Roadrunner?

It's laughable at best to read all these posts that say that when a band signs to Roadrunner, they turn into to complete shit. Name one great band that signed with Roadrunner, then all of sudden sucked. Don't even try Cradle of Flith...

    The control denied news...

Thanks for your answer, Steve. I had a feeling it would be something along those lines. Now, you knowing Chuck much better than me, of course, would probably have a better idea of how Chuck really would want this whole thing to turn out. But, I would have to believe this is copmpletely not the...

    The control denied news...

According to blabbermouth.net, it seems that the INCOMPLETE version of the unreleased Control Denied album is going to be put out next year. They claim it is 75% done. This is very sad. Steve - How much do you know is complete? Does 75% done mean just guitar and drums and no vocals and bass...

    OceanMachine question...

At the end of the song 'Greetings' (I think), there is a clip from what sounds like an opera or a choral movement. Does anybody know what that clip if from, because I find it quite beautiful.

some cool stuff i just dusted off..

I was digging through my CD collection the other day to find some music I hadn't listened to in awhile, and I came across Skyclad's Burnt Offering for a Bone Idol. I forgot how awesome some of the bass licks are on the album. I hadn't listened to that album in about 7 years. Very underrated...

    The problem with Tool

If we really must rate drummers...Carey is good. Billy Cobham and Neil Peart are better. And, I would dare say, Sean Reinert is better than Carey as well. But, in the end, it's just the songs you like to listen to the best.

    The problem with Tool

Just because you might not like something, doesn't mean it isn't any good. That being said, I think that Tool sucks. I saw them live twice. Once about a 2 years before they released Undertow at a $7 show in Buffalo. They were booed unmercifully for their enitre set (which was about an hour and...

    Any Opeth fans like Cynic?

    Aghora is fantastic!

    New Devin Townsend

Well, that up to the listener. I believe that it is more powerful and covers more musical ground than Damnation. It's that good.

    New Devin Townsend

Being an Opeth forum, I am quite sure I am reaching people with some good taste in music. So, with that in mind, I HIGHLY recommend everyone to check out Devin Townsend's newest "Accelerated Evolution". It's an incredible album from top to bottom, period. It's going to be a front-runner for...

Best metal bass riffs...best metal bass player...

I finally went out and did my homework...I got copy of Mind Journey off ebay last week. The bass riffs indeed rule. This is the first I have heard of Barry Sparks, but color me impressed. I am not to impressed with the production of the CD, though. Actually, its dowright bad with the...
