Looking for Mix Feedback & Mastering: Real Drums + Amp Sims

Hi everyone, I’m currently mixing my band’s first EP and feel kind of stuck right now. My ears are tired of the music, the original signals weren’t really good, I don’t have a lot of experience in mixing (always just did my own band’s songs) and only have a pair of...

Mic Pre blind Shootout. API, ISA, LA610, ZED-R16, ADA8000

There is less difference than I would have expected, but I think it's still clearly recognizable. I was thinking about buying more expensive preamps, but this shows me that it's propably not worth the money, at least for me as an amateur. But, I'd really like to know if Sample N5 is the...

    Recorded some real drums

You're totally right. Does this sound better to you? https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3797259/Delirium_Test4.mp3 My ears are fatigue right now, so I'm not in the condition anymore to judge this. Or propably more like this? https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3797259/Delirium_Test5.mp3

    Recorded some real drums

Thanks for your feedback and advice  It's appreciated. Like I said, those are just scrap tracks that I received from the band. Everything (except for the drums) will be rerecorded with real amps and in good quality, it's all about the drums for now ;) Plankis, I was testing what you...

    Radio-ish Rock (Real everything)

I like the guitar tone, has a nice warm touch. The drums sound too small for this kind of music, they would profit from less "click" and more "meat" and a nice huge room.

No oppinions on this one? Come on :) Here is the drumset in a more realistic context with the scrap tracks: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3797259/15_Kontext5.mp3

Multi for mixing. Sort of Paradise Lost style

I love your mix, especially the kickdrum. I will definitely give this a try at mixing!

    Recorded some real drums

... but I'm not 100% satisfied with the result. Any advice on what I could improve in the drum mix? The given drumkit and room where far from perfect and I'm not that experienced with recording metal drums yet :) https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3797259/Darkness_Probemix14.mp3 (The other...

    Looking for Feedback: Drumsound

Thanks for your feedback, it's really apreciated. I'm still struggling with giving the kick more body :/ Still looking for some more feedback :) I'd be willing to post samples of the drumkit in return. Processed or unprocessed, however you want them.

    Latest alternative rock mix (5150/JVM)

I can agree with that. The Guitars sound totally awesome, but the vocals are not perfectly in tune and miss some "in your face" punchiness. Also the drums sound very lifeless, they don't seem to drive the song forward. I hope it's possible to understand what I mean ;)
