44.1K 24bit. 87BPM
Lots of tracks :)
Overheads are hats side left.
Full live kit.
Bass amp.
Guitar DIs provided.
Some leads have no DIs due to guitarist needing pedal board FX for the sound
Amp tracks are Mesa Boogie MK4>recto cab miced with 57 and 421.

Here is my mix.

Edit: just got a message saying this :
You need permission to access this item.

You are signed in as bloddon0@hotmail.co.uk, but you don't have permission to access this item. You can request access from the owner or choose a different account.

Is it cool if I request access, or would you rather upload to something like dropbox? :)

I had permission set wrong.
It is now set to public so should work.
Let me know.

I love your mix, especially the kickdrum. I will definitely give this a try at mixing!

What exactly did you record on those TGR tracks?
Triggers for drum replacing as I see

BTW, what is the track china_od_bip is for? It has different length than the song and I can't find where it fits...

Anyway, great song for practice, thanks very much!)

Here we go, just finished the first mix. No vocals, compression|mastering. I'll do them later :p

Aslo, i'm now without my lovely monitors, so there may be some trash in the ultra low or ultra high end, but it's unlikely to be so.

First of all, really good recordings. Pleasure to work with=)

Some comments about the mix:
1) THe main "thing" in this song I find it to be the lead guitars, so all other instruments were more like rhytm and harmony makers in my mind. I don't see the "drums in da face" idea here, and the bass don't need to go away from rhytm guitars.
2) I still have doubts about kick drum, but I don't see how to make it better... May be I just want it to be played a little differently. Dunno. Nothing is perfect/
3) All in all, I like my result for this stage, would like to hear some feedback about the technical side, but remember that my taste on sound can just be different, and it can be the reason behind some of my choises in this song=)

Ok so here we go, full master of this song. I still have doubts about the backing vocals being too loud, but when i put them less loud it doesn't please me eiser. Well,at least we can hear what they sing, so it's ok=)

I was off today so I decided to do a fresh re-amp and mix of this track.
Went with ts808>Triple Recto>Recto cab > Sennheiser 815 mic>API for left/right guitars.
I find the 815 to get less low mid mush than a 57 with low tunings.
Left the middle guitar as the original MK4.

Much happier with this mix.

I will have to listen to everyone's mixes later.
thanks to everyone who participated. It's a fun track to mix.

in my opinion RevoltStudios is the best mix until now - only the vocals are a bit too intrusive - but the mix sound is really offical...
2nd place is mickrich really very good mix too.

I will give it a try too ;D

Thanks! I would agree with your assessment too. I just didn't dig the vocals, no matter what I did. No energy.
