    Layne Staley is dead...

One of my all-time favourite musicians. I had so much hoped that his troubles would not consume him....God bless

    Fall Of The Leafe

yeah, fall of the leafe are an interesting band. They appear to be very intelligent guys, and they defintely have a penchant for self-degradation!

    Saddest Song

Katatonia: brave, tonight's music, this punishment... there are too many! Other stuff: Jeff Buckley's version of Dido's lament. Mad Season: wake up, long gone day

    Mad Season?

I don't have any Second Comming CD's, although I have heard of them and I think at one stage have even heard some of their material (thats if it was them, I can't really remember). Doesn't Layne Staley perform on some tracks? Cheers

    Mad Season?

I think 'Above' is an excellent album. When I first heard it I didn't really like it much, but after a few listens I was blown away! It's a very subtle album and probably the most depressing one I've ever heard! All up, it is just beautiful.

    Red Dwarf

"yeah its awesome, ive followed it for years now, almost from the beginning. i think series 5 is the best where Rimmer gets a hollo(gram) virus and dresses up like a woman and has a hand pupet penguin followed by the use of luck virus and sexual magnatism" by Transparent ..Mr. Fibble says...

    At The Gates

My favourite is Terminal Spirit Disease. It's got a great atmosphere that just really captures me. I love their use of the violin and cello too.

    Laney amplifier endorsement by Opeth

Yeah, I co-own a Laney VH100R (with a Marshall quad though). You're right, it's a great amp. The clean channel has this bell-like clarity -beautiful. Exceptionally loud (not brave enough to take it beyond 3 :) ) and as expected, kick ass distortion. I could try to explain some more, but I...

    katatonia sound

Well in a spatial sense, I guess Katatonia are between heaven and hell (i.e. earth!):) Seriously though, I think that there is something 'earthy' about them. As you say Transparent, everything about them (sound, lyrics, image etc.) is tied to daily life -something that is often neglected by...

    The Tea Party

I've seen The Tea Party a couple of times down here in Melbourne. An excellent live band, they sound faultless. They are currently recording a new album that I think is going to be titled 'Interzone Mantras'. Cheers
