I'd venture saying that Anathema may be dismissed by many as a sentimental band who overdo emotions. A matter of taste, I should say.

I'm no fan of Bjork, but her version of Gloomy Sunday really sends shivers down my spine. Easily the best I've heard.

I like 'Trains' too. It's much better than 'Strip The Soul'. And it's clearly more porcupine :)

Unfortunately the tentative release date for Europe is January 2003, which sucks big time. The band say it's because of the label's policy. Strange policy indeed. But I must say I listened to Strip The Soul several times and it failed to impress me so far. It may be heavy, but it's heaviness...

As for me, it's a bit uneven. Goodbye and Hate could have been left out easily. Meon is good but would be even better without the dreadful chorus. On the other hand, Again and Numb are simply brilliant and there are more great moments throughout the album. All in all, I would say it's worth...
