Has anyone done any comparison between these units? I have Edirol FA-66 Firewire Interface which has hi-Z instrument input (1Mohm I think). I'm planning to buy Radial J48 or some other active DI Box but..... Is it worth that? Am I paying $200 just because it's Radial and (almost) everyone...

Presonus Firebox seems to be what I'm looking for.

I like Pod X3...actually I cannot imagine better home studio tool. USB driver input routing is very handy. I'm using same presets as I used with XT. I like the things to be simlple and X3 is simple tool.

What would be good soundcard / mic preamp combination to use with Radial DI Box? Budget models :)

Other option would be soundcard with ADAT (E-MU 1212M?) and separate ADAT Interface with Mic Preamps.....like Behringer ADA8000 or something else...better quality ADAT Interface. EDIT: I need simple setup to use with Radial DI Box: Radial -> XLR Input -> Soundcard.

I agree....never ever use Guitar Rig for rhythms. PodXT sounds far better...for rhythm and leads, IMO.

Has anyone made this comparison? I read reamping threads and saw James Murphy comment about PodXT as DI Box. Of course it's better to use Radial or some other real DI Box....Can PodXT produce good signal for reamping purposes? Maybe real professional studio engineers can hear the difference...
