"The Mullet of 1986!", new Åkerfeldt MySpace Blog

I would DIE if it was "Dirge for November"... one of my favorite Opeth songs! "Wreath" isn't all that old, and I've never cared for that song much. "Karma" looks like a strong contender. If I could pick the two songs, they would be "Dirge for November" and "Epilogue"... they have NO...

    Songs OPETH dont play live

Actually, "The Funeral Portrait" WAS played live, during the UK leg of the BWP tour. Not sure about "The Twilight is My Robe," although I know they rehearsed it for the Lamentations Tour.

    Please help

I'm having kind of a time crisis right now... I'm going to the Gigantour tonight in Columbus and I know that the bands start playing at 4:30. Is that what time it started at the other dates too? And if that's the case, do all the mainstagers go on AFTER the second stagers? So Opeth wouldn't be...

    Cincinnati Setlist 2/19

Did Per play the piano outro to "The Leper Affinity"?

Need Help w/ an Old Set List

I don't remember him saying anything about "Prologue." That's the intro to "April Ethereal" anyway. I know my "Face of Melinda" placement is right because that's when I got the chance to move a lot farther up. And the only songs after that were "Blackwater Park" and "Demon of the Fall."

Need Help w/ an Old Set List

That is indeed the correct setlist, although I think "Face of Melinda" wasn't played until in between "Deliverance" and "Blackwater Park."

    4 debut tracks

I agree, I've never liked "Wreath." I don't think a lot of people do though, so if they're going to debut something off of Deliverance I hope it'll be "By the Pain I See in Others." Angl, are you sure that they did "Nectar"? Their first tour was for BWP I believe... and I think that the only...

    4 debut tracks

So what are your bets on the chronology "American soil"/possibly-never-played songs? I'm thinking... "The Twilight is My Robe" "Nectar" "The Amen Corner" And as for the fourth... I have a feeling it'll be a later one, and I think all of Still Life has been done, I know all of Damnation...

Anti-BRI's will be pissed at this probably...

Ehh, I could live without it. It would be cool to hear it since it's never been done before, but when it comes to premiering tracks I'd rather hear "The Night and the Silent Water", even though the chances of that are near zilch unfortunately. But I've never seen any Morningrise stuff live, so...

OT: Petition for Opeth concerts in the Southeast US

It's REALLY not that hard to understand. They're coming back to the States soon, so this is the perfect time to make a petition because they have to start seeking out venues and cities. I live in Cleveland and have been lucky enough to see Opeth three times, and come late winter four. They've...

OT: Petition for Opeth concerts in the Southeast US

They're already planning on coming back to the States, though. I'm almost positive that they'll be here for the whole month of February, Mikael announced that they were doing a second leg in the winter. The reason why we did the petition was so that we'd catch them in time.

OT: Petition for Opeth concerts in the Southeast US

Here's a message that I posted at the Opeth forum... even if you're not the biggest Opeth fan by any means, I pointed out something that could well benefit you. A friend and I made this petition to show demand to the band and/or their managers for stops in the Southeast of the US, which they...

OT: Petition for Opeth concerts in the Southeast US

Exactly. There is a farrr bigger market here, because we're rather large geographically. Martin Lopez once said that touring the US isn't like performing in any other countries, it's very extensive because it's pretty much like touring a continent. A whole region has been ignored.

    Touring the Southeast

A friend and I made this petition to show demand to the band and/or their managers for stops in the Southeast of the US, which they don't visit. Several states... Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi, I think even Arkansas... haven't had the privelidge of seeing an Opeth concert yet...
