I'd say Battles in the North is technical to an extent. So would that be later Immortal, as well? Nemesis Divina by Satyricon is pretty technical, but would you say that it's just extreme metal with black influences?

I could almost see Lamb of God being called metalcore, if metalcore was meant as Earth Crisis and Integrity type bands. But, of course, metalcore these days means Killswitch Engage and Atreyu, who bear little to no resemblence to LoG.

Real present day emo and hardcore isn't very far removed from it's roots in the 80s. Seriously, listen to Circle Takes the Square (screamo), Bane (hardcore), and some Planes Mistaken for Stars (hardcore/screamo/emo/stuff). I mean really, have you abandoned naming true black metal bands...
