    Post black metal

Hm, I had always heard that Anaal Nathrakh, Blut Aus Nord, and newer Deathspell Omega were post-black metal. Was I wrong?

Top 10 Black Albums of all time

I'd say Battles in the North is technical to an extent. So would that be later Immortal, as well? Nemesis Divina by Satyricon is pretty technical, but would you say that it's just extreme metal with black influences?

what death band in your opinion....

I could almost see Lamb of God being called metalcore, if metalcore was meant as Earth Crisis and Integrity type bands. But, of course, metalcore these days means Killswitch Engage and Atreyu, who bear little to no resemblence to LoG.

what death band in your opinion....

When they stop being more technical than 90% of other brutal death metal. I'll admit, they aren't the most technical band out there, but to say that they aren't more technical than any other death metal band is simply ludicrous.

    Black metal question

Exactly. Most bands that are actual emo (Embrace, Rites of Spring, Sunny Day Real Estate) either speak out against things like cutting or just don't talk about it at all. Nor do they whine about how their girlfriend left them. Actually most emo bands have really abstract lyrics. Of...

The Greatest Black Metal Bands of All Time

I noticed you have a Deathspell Omega avatar. Now there's a damn fine black metal band. On the Emperor quasi-debate, I'd say that Prometheus was pretty good, but... the production of the screams made it less enjoyable, and the riffs were a bit simpler, though layered with more strings n...

"metalcore as a subgenre destroys the other subgenres"

Real present day emo and hardcore isn't very far removed from it's roots in the 80s. Seriously, listen to Circle Takes the Square (screamo), Bane (hardcore), and some Planes Mistaken for Stars (hardcore/screamo/emo/stuff). I mean really, have you abandoned naming true black metal bands...

"metalcore as a subgenre destroys the other subgenres"

Wrong. Wrongwrongwrong. Emo, previously known as emotional hardcore, then emocore, was spawned out of the dissolution of numerous hardcore bands in the early 80s, who wanted to play something more mature and introspective... I'll just refer you to the site. And fuck, I love AFI. Period. No...
