Nice, what did you use for the guitars?

The guitar sound has been discussed for years but how about the vocals? Lots of stuff going on there any ideas how it was done?

I don't understand all the hostility towards a piece of gear. Some instances could use a BBE, some not. My experience has been that some amps sound good with it and others don't.

I don;t mena in my live rig I mean to use it on mixdown through my console.

I want to buy a BBE preferably a 2 channel model. There are so many versions, which is the best one? I plan to use it primarily for guitars.

The rigid foam works well. 2 or 3 inches of it and a frame not connected to the walls and I think you would be AOK.

I think there are a few things you could do to fix up your harmony guitars. Put a tubescreamer type pedal infront of your amp. Dial in a "singing sustain". I prefer my old LP for harmonies but that's just me. Experiment with the different guitars you own. Boost around 10k. Play like you...

Your clips sound good. Mid range punchy.

Too bright? I don't like the sound of that , literally. I think my 451's are kinda bright too. I'm really tempted bcause of the multiple patterns feature.

Has anyone here tried any of these? not the ball mics. I mean models such as the blue bird, baby bottle, mouse, woodpecker, dragonfly... I'm leaning towards buying an AKG C414 XLSII, for room micing, mainly because of the multiple patterns but I thought maybe I should research the better blue...

Ok I was thinking it might be good to pair with a 57 or an i5. Guitar wouldn't really be my main use for it, mostly room mic and vocals maybe bass drum.

Egan, how would you rate the low end on the 414 when it comes to guitars?

I'm thinking specifically the AT4047MP I'd like to have the multiple patterns to choose from and the 414XLS. Looking at the specs for the 2 I think the 414 is a little better. However from what I know the 4047's make great guitar mics too I don;t know if I'd like the 414 for that.
