I know of all his side projects, they just never impressed me. His solo album was decent.

Why? I'm a bigger fan of Guns n roses then Slayer, but Slash on his own (even with backing band and people like the Alter Bridge singer) just doesn't appeal to me.

I'm going to Soundwave festival next year and both Slayer and Slash are performing. My friend seems to think it'd be a better idea to watch Slash, then it is to watch Slayer. They're playing on different stages at the same time and I have to make a choice. Please dissuade my friend.

Yeah, for every horrible performance of Anselmo's i've seen 5 more good ones on my good ol' friend youtube. His singing started getting horrible but his screaming on TGST was great. Also he's done some good performance with Down recently, check out his performance at Download 2009.
