    ...Ever cried to Opeth?

So what's wrong with some EMO anyway? And, yes, I've cried to Opeth but it wasn't just the music. If you feel a lot it's not hard to cry to let's say "Weakness", as it's not hard to feel furious listening to "Deliverance". Hearing Demon of the Fall and The Drapery Falls live does seem to...

20th - Goteborg, Sweden, Sticky Fingers

And for some reason he decided to land pretty much right on me and my full cup of beer - for that, I hope the concrete was unforgiving. Saw him too late, either I was entirely focused on the band or I had had too much to drink. Perhaps a mixture... As for the concert: When and Face of Melinda...

    Mikael's honesty appreciation thread...

I agree to what's been said: the honesty on the official site deserves credit, as does the way the band acts. Met 'em a few times and they have always struck me as great guys, which, for me, makes the band and the music even greater. For some reason the attitude of a band is a big factor...

Anyone here (except Pomfritz) going to the Opeth-concert in Gothenburg 28/10 ??

Yes, I am going! And I'm working on my posting frequency... :) Anyway, only a few days to go. Now: Paradise Lost tonight. Opeth Rules!!!

Ever listened to Opeth in the Woods?

Especially Orchid comes to life so vividly outside. The feeling of walking in the dark on a cold clear night, silence around, the vastness of space above you with all the stars shining down on you, with "The Twilight is my Robe" playing, is simply amazing. Makes me feel so very very happy to be...

    rediscovering Deliverance

Great post SculptedCold! Except for Still Life (which was the one that got me hooked) this has been the case with every Opeth record for me. I have found them all alright or good at first, but then after a long while they suddenly become great, and touches me. Blackwater park took more than a...

    Sweet Nurse is so uplifting.

Hmm, there is something about these nurses :) . Nurses that kill you instead of heal you. Came to think of two things, a story by Stephen King, The little sisters of Eluria, and a song by leonard Cohen, Teachers. In the King story there are a bunch of nurses that are vampires of a kind, that...

    Sweet Nurse is so uplifting.

Yes, great song; just listened to it in the car this morning. I always connect it with how the hospitals all seem to have to cut back all the time. Money is short, nurses are too few, and time is never enough. There is no time for CARE anymore; this which should be a nurse's task. Sedate with...

    the BEST COVER ARTWORK thread

Ahh, but the digipack version is even finer... (kiss) Katatonia's Tonight's Decision has an awesome cover.

    Literature anyone?

Hmm, this is an interesting thread. I am reading J.M. Coetzee's "Age of Iron", in which at one point an old woman sits in a window looking out, and I came to think of "Windowpane". For some reason I imagine that most people who listen to Opeth read a lot as well. Is it so? Do you read? What do...

    i depend on darkness

If life rocks or not I don't know. Sometimes life is great and sometimes it is not so great. I can relate a lot to what Elric wrote in the starting post though, so for once I felt I wanted to write something too, although I don't know how much I can add. Why some people find darkness more...

    Swedish show

I'm there, wouldn't want to miss Opeth and Katatonia. Cool to see people are travelling from Finland for a one day event. Let's hope for good weather. Rock on...

    The Happy Thread

Good thread, it's always easier to be sad than to be happy it seems, we need more happiness. I agree with Demonspell, music is definitely a source of happiness, good solid friends is another. Right now I'm happy because I've had some beers, I've finished an exam, and christmas is around the...

    opeth W2 + scandinavian tour

Vanessa, if you like Iced Earth, they will play three shows in Sweden in February. They are supposed to play 150 minutes shows so I think that will be very nice. Great band (although not as thrilling as Opeth)

    opeth W2 + scandinavian tour

It's pretty weird, there are many swedish bands that seem to be big in europe but small here in Sweden. I also went to Wacken and once there I realized most bands I really wanted to see were actually Swedish. Opeth being one of course. Therion was another. Therion was one of the biggest bands at...
