I saw them live in 2003 and they used marshalls. I was suprised because they seemed to sound exactly like the way they sounded with the laney's. Same guitar tone, so it is pretty obvious they get the distortion from the GT-6 and use the amps clean channel

Isn't that track just fuckin' awesome? It is one monster of a song! My favourite parts are the heavy riff at about 5:10 and the whole part after Mikez "solo spot" vocals at about 9 minutes into the song. Great stuff! Comments?

Damnation is a masterpiece, simply put. As for the prog thing, yes, Opeth are a progressive metal band. Maybe the most progressive metal band ever, in both ways of the meaning of the term "progressive", whether that means unique sound and playing in weird time signatures etc
