Has SX hit their creative peak?

V for me culminated what the band was "all" about in one album. Being an older fan , having bought the first album within the first year it was released I honestly dont like Paradise Lost or Odyssey much at all. I wont dent they both have hints of brilliance.. but overall not what I look for in...

Im about halfway through "A Game of Thrones" , my cousin raved about the series so much he bought me the first 2 books in hard-cover. I used to read a lot of fantasy when I was young... my cousin told me I'd love this series since it wasnt your typical hero of the day fantasy which I now loathe...

Guitarists who made the biggest impact

I'd agree with razor (seems i've been doing a lot of that lately). The post is titled "impact" while i've been following guitarists since ive been twelve.. and have been through at least part of 2 generations of influences.. Petrucci definitly had an impact in the early to mid 90's.. he was...

    Dream Theater

I liked the 2 first releases.. then a couple in between. I hardly find them interesting at all now.. People say they are unpredictable.. I find they are the most predictable band around now.

Bands that are loved by many, hated by you

Dont forget ZZ Top's first album was in 71 also... its well known they have influenced a ton of metal bands / guitarists .. Its been forever that I have seen someone mention Atomic Rooster , my Uncle had Death walks behind you on vinyl, I used to listen to that when i was very young.

    Top Shred Guitarists

I would add Loomis and more modern day players to a different list.. I was thinking strictly old school type shredders.
