Any news on Michael LePond's side band Stygia?

Never heard of them but like the name. Very reminiscent of the V album.

Thomas Miller's new band Thunder's Majesty

Thomas is one of the most underrated bass players in rock history and general history too. His playing on those albums was nothing short of amazing and his songwriting was strong too.

    Portnoy left DT

Hey, everyone, its been a long time since I last came here. Anyway, I think this may be good for DT musically, since Portnoy really did ruin them with his nu metal influences, we all know that's not what DT originally were/are about. I wish him luck but the band is better off without him. Great...

Thats interesting, because Myung also began playing cello.;) Thomas Miller was a virtuoso, a true loss for the group.:waah:

They couldn't find a better replacement for Thomas Miller. And in case Michael L should quit one day, its good to know that there is someone like you out there that can take his place.;)

    Joe Satriani

I always thought Vai's sense of humor was kinda dry. It seems he tries to be Frank Zappa too much sometimes but lacks his sense of humor. Not surprising, since Zappa had plenty of it! :)

Adrian Vandenberg has solo stuff?? Hm. I've only heard a thing or two by Gilbert, but he sure can play.

    Radiohead

They are good, but too depressive so I generally steer away from their stuff. If you listen to OK Computer every day for a week, you just might end up committing suicide!

You can say Vai hasnt made a good meaningful song in 10 years, I'll accept it. But 20??! No way! Same with Satriani. But I thought Vai's 2001 album Alive in an Ultra World was fookin' great!:kickass: He went and explored the ethnic music of all these European countries. And he made it all sound...

    SX's activity

Fer real!:p On the last album, only two songs are listenable. The rest is boring repetition of previous two albums.

No Always with me always with you? No Lords of Karma? No Flying in a Blue Dream? No Crushing Day?? Ok, its your personal list...fair's fair.:erk: Thanks for the recommendations btw. I'm now listening to some of your fav songs on my spotify.;) Have never heard them before, except for Circles and...

    SX's activity

I think it's real clever of SX not to be overly active like, say, Dream Theater. Releasing albums every second year really isn't a wise thing to do if you are no longer in your heyday. That's not to say SX belong to that group, but I think it's really good that they take their time and take it...
