    New Guitar Day- Caparison content...

Thanks! I don't know (these pics are taken at my friend's place) but I'd wager money on it being the Necrophagist one.

    New Guitar Day- Caparison content...

As promised, pics of my Carvin: http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/sevenstring-guitars/40004-ngd-middle-manning-custom-carvin-56k-these-hi-res.html I can't wait until it's here!

    AHHH I GOT IT!

This is easily the best work yet by Ron (and great work by the other chaps too of course)! Such a great album. There isn't a single moment or riff on the album that I dislike, and that's very rare for me in metal these days.

    New Guitar Day- Caparison content...

Hey, that looks pretty cool. Never played a Caparison though. I recently ordered a custom Carvin DC747 (7-string), which I should be getting the first week of November or something. New guitars rule.

    Adenosine Breakdown/Buildup

I'm still waiting for my copy but it's awesome to hear they pulled it off! I've had the idea myself and tried for a couple of years to make palindromic songs but I gave up because it was way too hard for me. Not a huge surprise that Ron would be able to do it : D

How awesome is this year for Prog-Metal!?!

Meh. Brett Garsed is much better than MacAlpine. And Quantum has some of his best playing yet. This should be right up most Planet X fans' alleys: http://www.myspace.com/alexargento

How awesome is this year for Prog-Metal!?!

This year, along with most other recent years, sucks for good metal. Last year had one good release: Katatonia. The Planet X album was good, though, and Alex Argento's EGO is actually better. Check that one out, Planet X lovers. But no good metal so far.

end solo on Rivers Dancing (q for Ron)

Mmmm. I get goosebumps everytime I hear it, and I must've heard it over 500 times by now! Definitely one of my favourite solos.

I thought Ron might find this a little cool.

Well, how about these two? http://www.truechristian.com/img/watchtower-brooklyn.jpg http://www.purdy.info/albums/nyc03/agy.sized.jpg

    this bands awsome (MURDREAD)

At whom is your post aimed? I'm having trouble deciphering it. "typical post you too" doesn't really mean anything. Did you mean "typical posts, you two"? "play by the rules of tonality." Who is this directed at? What's "tonal hierarchy"?

    Lale Larson

Hey Ron, I'm guessing you know who Lale Larson is, right? Ever considered starting a project with him? Yeah yeah, I know, there are probably hundreds of musicians you'd want to do stuff with, but maybe Lale is high on the list? :D For those of you who don't know who he is, he's an outstanding...

    this bands awsome (MURDREAD)

Bold statement! Mmm hmm, we shall see. I will return with my findings. Edit: Well, I can't say I was disappointed since I didn't expect much at all (despite your words). The guy definitely has chops indeed, but I wasn't too impressed by the actual solo... I mean, when you've seen Allan...

    Tandjent (Debut Album)

Ah Swiss. Fragment was the band I was thinking about. Thanks. Isn't Dog Faced Gods American? It matters little...

    Tandjent (Debut Album)

I can vouch for the whole album being quite varied and it doesn't at all come off as being a Meshuggah clone... Those samples + that full song don't give you the whole picture. Now, if that's Tandjent's shortcoming or not, I can't say... it's not easy picking samples and such to condense an...
