I used two different Hammond emulators, an old Alesis synth with modified sounds and some weird soundbanks that Peter Tagtgren dug up from the heaps of equipment that he has in his studio. I mixed a lot of sounds and did some experimenting with effects and so on. It's been a while, so I can't...

I thought I´d just up these pics from the recording of the new Solefald album. Do you recognize the studio?

I just listened to the test mastering of two of the new songs, and they sound great. I´m absolutely confident that you will love this album. Both Mr. V and Vortex do such amazing vocal performances, and I´m very happy with the way the songs turned out. It all sounds very fresh and Borknagar-ish.

On Empiricism and Epic I used a hammond B3, but on Quintessence I actually used an old Alesis-synth that had a whole lot of nice and kind of old-fashioned sounds. I loved that keyboard, but it died on tour (back in 2001, I think) so after that it has been all Hammond for me.

Some of you probably know this already, but he new Havoc Unit album “h.iv+” is out now on Vendlus Records. I did vocals on a song for them in return for the remixes they did for us on “The Circular Drain”, so lend an ear to “Ignoratio Elenchi” and tell me what you think.
