I use an ezdrummer click that is just a pedal hihat... btw, w/ ezdrummer if you build you're own midi grooves the "humanize" feature is not an issue. The humanizer is only in the prebuilt grooves.

also, is the me33 an amp modeler? Im checking th specs and it doesnt look like. You should try some cab impulses from this site and apply em to your tracks. Might help out a lot.

SD recommends something like 3/32" on the bass strings and 1/16" on the treble strings. Im pretty sure that is correct but check SD's documentation for your pickups it will confirm suggested pickup height.
