Agreed. I've experimented with stuff like this and it causes much more problems than it solves. Youre much better off just quading or tripling. At the moment I'm gravitating towards triple with the centre pretty heavily high passed and blended with the low mids of the bass, and mixed low.

I've had a J48 and XAmp and have a red eye (not 3d) Note; had, and have. DI: Red eye is marginally better, a little cleaner/clearer. Not much in it, the 48 is very good. Reamp: Red eye kicks the shit out of the x-amp, which is pretty seriously under-gained.

Its a flat body with straight neck, so maybe it might retrofit in a very ugly way, but I doubt it would work well. Without a doubt there would be post holes that have to be filled/ignored, and if filled the guitar would need to be refinished if you care what it looks like. Looks like it should...

They are at the warmer end of things. I didnt feel that I was missing anything, though. I never got moulded inserts, and just used some shure tips from my E4s that I thought allowed a better/brighter balance.

As far as the buds go, future sonics are the best I've used. Atrios (their cheap version; I dread to think how good their high end stuff is).

Yup. This is what I do. Move tracks around so theres still a time differential, as there should be, but waveforms are in phase. When I feel the need to/feel like it that is. Seems to be the best of both worlds. It can have trade offs though. There could well have been phase cancellations...
