10,000

When you reply to every post, even your own, on every thread, that's easy to do. I'd have a few thousand less posts if it wasn't for the occasional one word or single emoticon reply. Still, you have a point. Spawn is still in the Top 30 posters and he hasn't posted in two years.

I came here late from the Dungeon board... Blitzy used to encourage it, and it finally became a habit when the Dungeon board got a bit tedious with way too much to keep up with. The interesting stuff usually filtered down in here anyway.

I find it interesting that I reached around 8,000 fairly quickly, but my last 2 have been much slower, as there had been a few periods of late where I haven't posted for a few months or more.

Also interesting that the more popular the Dungeon forum became popular, the less I have been on UM as it seems more of a hassle to try filter through it all.....though I always enjoyed MD more when it was busier....oh well.

I still miss Spawny 2 years on as well.

This has been an interesting discussion.

I find the Lord forum a lot easier to go through than it was before it was restructured. It seems a lot of the post whores aren't there as much, which is excellent. I had been having the same problems with it as you, Stonewall.

Spawny did make things entertaining around here, even if not everyone agreed with what he wrote. If nothing else he provoked discussion.

Ah I didn't realise you weren't here at the start, Brian. My memory gets a bit hazy when I go back that far. :)

Yeah, the LORD forum definitely has gone through some changes.

A lot of the regulars (who are also regulars here) bailed on it big time after it started to get really popular because the signal to noise ratio was just out of control. The was so much off-topic chatter, in jokes and little localised scene stuff that it was just plain annoying to go through to find anything meaningful.

We tried a lot of stuff to keep it under control but it ended up being too restrictive and over moderated and that took all the fun out of it. *sigh* So the next thing was to split the forum in two to have serious discussions on the main topic page (as well as band news) and have basically everything else in our Off-Topic area with fairly relaxed moderation.

The biggest irony about that is now that Transcending Mortality have their forum up, the biggest noisemakers are now running riot over there and out forum has quietened down a hell of a lot from what it was - we probably wouldn't have needed an Off-Topic forum if that had happened a couple of months back. Oh well!

Nice to see this place firing back to life a bit more, though! :)
