Hello guys, we're preparing for a fest and well need to share a cab between the bands and one dude will be bringing his "400w peavey triple X 4x12"

My head is a 100W Solid State Fender Fm, rated 4ohm.

So like so like, what's gonna happen ?

Too bad for him if he was shitty.

I just use that head as a power-amp tho, bypassing the pre-amp with the 4CM. Pre-amps come from the GT-10. Sounds great.

My other guitarist has an AXE FX 2 with a MESA Stereo 2:Fifty Power Amp and our sound match well (I don't have his resolution of course but still).

Now, usefull answers anyone ?

a 400w cab typically means that's the highest watts it can take. i'm not sure if in cab speak they are talking average, rms, program, or peak watts, but whatever. your 100w amp will sound like a 100w amp and you shouldn't have to worry about blowing the speakers due to over powering.

in addition, most solid state amps i've worked with can go down to 2ohms, but matching with the cab is always better if possible. heed all warnings on the back of your amp/user manual.
