1176 Compressor

I´ve got one 1176 clone (Gyraf) in a plastic bag somewhere in my studio. Nearly all stuff is finished on the pcb and all stuff should be included. It´s for sale - I already got one and don´t need another one.

Do you like the one you already have? How much would you sell the other one for? Been thinking about getting one of those for a while, I've heard some good words about them.

I tried prodigy they didn't respond to me. So figured I'd ask you all what you think.

I'm a big fan of the original 1176's, and the remakes, while they don't sound exactly like the originals(but none of the originals sound like each other anyhow, so what does it really matter?), are still excellent. The UAD-1 plugin is decent if you don't have the real thing(the BF version isn't even worth listening to it sucks so bad), but the hardware versions win every time for me. Oh yeah, the Purple Audio one roxx, it's just yet another awesome flavor to any awesome sound.

I want an actual compressor not a plug in. I'm sure the plugins are good but it's still not the same as putting a signal through some good ole iron. So the Purple MC77 is atleast as good as the the original?

Does anyone have a comparison between the UAD 1176 and the hardware version of the 1176, that we can hear ?

I've got the UAD and wondering if its worth picking up the 1176 hardware

I might be able to knock something like that up if I get the time in the studio this week. It would be pretty interesting to hear, I have to admit. Is there anything in particular you'd want compressed? A whole mix, a snare, overheads?
