So im thinking about running my cab/mic 15 metres from the actual head and mixing desk, will i loose a shitload of signal/quality running both with 15 metre cables?

The head will sit right by my side and i intend on running a very short cable from the guitar to the head, unfortunately neighbours is a serious issue, i have a soundproof out-house so it only makes sense to run the cab/mic from there.

seen a few cables for the job

unsure about the speaker cable, i just cant see it retaining a great signal at 15 meteres? any suggestions?

nice :D

any suggestions on a quality 15 metre speaker cable?

under normal circumstances id use Lava cables but my 3 metre lava
cable set me back £38, id hate to imagine how much a 15 metre lava speaker
cable would cost!

For head>cab in the studio I use one of these, cheap, thick and works great for me:

And then for XLR's whatever's lying around. Mostly van damme/sommer cable with neutrik cables, all going through a Peavey stagebox.

For speaker level or balanced signals long cable runs really aren't an issue tbh. It's only really unbalanced instrument level signals you need to worry about.

I just ordered 100m of Sommer Cable Source MKII. The list price is around 2,20 €, I got it for 0,80 €. Send them a mail and they'll make you an awesome offer. Directly to Sommer Cables.
You would need to solder yourself then, way cheaper! :)

I recently got Cordial Road Line with Neutrics for this very purpose (head in the control room, cab in the live room). No probs, works great. I do use ~1.5m instrument cables for plugging the guitar into the amp.
