1khz to 4khz = annoying!

I think the problem with me on this comes greatly because of ampsims 'n all being plastic fake. Im even hating the most kick samples and having to cut like 7 to 12db from kick samples to get rid of some annoying sub thud's or leatherflanksound

That's the painful frequency there! I also hate 2.3K and the whistling at around 4K on amp sims.

Exactly my thoughts!

ITT, noobs blaming frequencies for their poor (or cheap) tracking habits.

Get a real amp, real cabinet, mic said cabinet, mic goes into mic preamp, then DA i/o. If you dialed your shit in correctly, very little eq is needed, especially guitars. And particular frequencies will change from amp, cabinets, mics, mic positions and room acoustics, the 1K-4K is just the least forgiving area.

I always have peaks around 2khz. No matter where I'm mixing. I somehow like the bite of the guitars in this area, but I have to cut it out most of the time, to make room for the vocals.
