1khz to 4khz = annoying!

I think the problem with me on this comes greatly because of ampsims 'n all being plastic fake. Im even hating the most kick samples and having to cut like 7 to 12db from kick samples to get rid of some annoying sub thud's or leatherflanksound :D

I'm working with Unicorn at the moment to hopefully develop a line of Nebula cab impulses that get around these dreaded problems.
Holy fuck, that would be amazing ! :yow:
Can you tell us a few more about that, if you don't mind ?
How exactly are you involved, cab models, estimated price and release date... etc

This thread is disturbing

Exactly my thoughts!

ITT, noobs blaming frequencies for their poor (or cheap) tracking habits.

Get a real amp, real cabinet, mic said cabinet, mic goes into mic preamp, then DA i/o. If you dialed your shit in correctly, very little eq is needed, especially guitars. And particular frequencies will change from amp, cabinets, mics, mic positions and room acoustics, the 1K-4K is just the least forgiving area.

I always have peaks around 2khz. No matter where I'm mixing. I somehow like the bite of the guitars in this area, but I have to cut it out most of the time, to make room for the vocals.
