hey guys!

I will b recording a full album for an indie band. I have problems with giving out the price package. Most of the band came to record singles, but never an album.

How should i charge them? Let's just say they have 10 songs. They don't want me to charge by hours though. I have to think other alternatives.

Help~

thnx :headbang:

i was thinking of giving them the maximum of two months doing the whole recording process. That includes pre-production and mastering. I will b seeing these guys again soon.

I would say that give a discounted price (say X-20%) that includes Y amount of studiodays, Z amount of out-of-studio days that include you (preprod etc) and everything beyond that is X price per day.

oic. Now i will just have to think the proper price for tht X. I normally charge $10/hr recordings and $20/song for mixing&mastering.

I would rather charge the same rate for everything beyond 4 hours per day and charge by the day for recording, editing, mixing and mastering. So say you work 8-12 hours a day and add taxes, so you would charge 100-200 per day for the reserved days and 100-250 per additional days
