if i were you, i'd charge by the hour for tracking, and then by the song for mixing/mastering. this way, if the band blows ass and has to do 200 takes of a solo, you're not getting totally fucked.

a few 100 quid mics and a grand or two for hardware incl. computer,and many thousands
worth of Waves alone.plus HUNDREDS other plugins ..heh

one thing is using cracks for learning/experimenting/etc,but
including them in your gearlist is too much.

then i charch a bundle price for editing mixing and mastering, because I can do that when ever i want...
